What To Do in Case of an Emergency
Safety First!
Call the fire department and get to a safe location. Do not enter the impacted areas of your home or business until a structural engineer has deemed it safe to enter.
Call Modernistic
We will respond quickly to care for your property. Our mitigation protocols will limit further damage and reduce eventual repair costs.
Secure the Property
After the fire has been extinguished, limit exposure to the elements, critters, or unauthorized occupants, boarding up and tarping any area that is a potential entry point.
Limit Movement in Impacted Areas
If you allow traffic into and out of the affected area, it will result in the transfer of soot particles to unaffected parts of your property. This will increase damage and restoration costs. Containment is key.
Prevent Additional Damage
Do not try to wipe or wash walls, or clean electrical appliances. Extreme caution and restorative best practices must be employed to recover your structure and its contents. Not following these practices could lead to secondary damage.
